From talk show host to the director’s chair – watch the trailer for Stewart’s first feature.
The first trailer has been released for Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater.
Gael Garcia Bernal stars in this biopic drama as London-based Iranian journalist Maziae Bahari, who goes to the capital to cover the election. Bahari is quickly detained, arrested, blindfolded and brutally interrogated for 118 days in an Iran prison whilst is pregnant wife waits for him back home.
Maziar Bahari’s memoir Then They Came for Me was published in 2011 and provided the basis for Stewart’s film. The Daily Show host wrote the screenplay as well as acted as director. Rosewater will make its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival later this year and will also screen at Toronto.
Rosewater will be released in US cinemas November 7th with a UK date is yet to be announced.
